ANN news editor Tom Patton discusses aviation issues with Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe while at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2014.

Tom starts his discussion with Senator Inhofe by asking about the general political lay of the land as it relates to aviation, and Inhofe's reply is not surprising.
When Patton asked Inhofe about the delays from the FAA in developing regulations as mandated by federal law, Inhofe responded that bureaucracies in the government are noted for being slow in response and the FAA is no different. The senator spends some time explaining how the system works or, in some cases, doesn't work.
Senator Inhofe has been involved with aviation for the better part of his life and he genuinely feels the pain that general aviation is going through. He honestly and candidly expresses some of the attitudes held at the executive level of government that are hurting GA. As a longtime member of both the U.S. House and the U.S. Senate, Inhofe has often been a lone voice in the wilderness of a government that really doesn't know much about the value of general aviation.

This video will give you some inside information as to the politics that surround aviation, and some of this information is not pretty. This is a candid interview you don't want to miss. This is part 2 of 2 interviews with Senator Inhofe at AirVenture 2014. Be sure to view part 1.
