NASA Dryden Awards Engineering, Tech Services Contract

Tybrin Corp. Wins Four-Year Base Deal

NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center has awarded a multi-year competitive contract to Tybrin Corporation of Fort Walton Beach, FL for engineering and technical services at the NASA field center.

The award-term contract covers a four-year base period with six one-year award-term periods, and could have a total value of $149 million if all award term periods are exercised. The agreement takes effect February 1, 2008, and the base period will extend through January 31, 2012. The pact could extend through January 31, 2018 if all award term periods are earned by the contractor through performance excellence.

The contract is indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, and includes cost-plus-award-fee and cost-no-fee line items.

The engineering and technical services contract supports Dryden's research program and project management, center management operations and the chief engineer's office. It also supports the strategic communications office, which includes public affairs, education, technology transfer and related outreach functions. Tybrin will support the center's flight research projects, internal research and development, and perform various other technical, engineering and general administrative support functions.

The pact with Tybrin is a new services contract that will be a follow-on to the current contract with Analytical Services and Materials of Hampton, VA which has provided engineering and technical support services to NASA Dryden for the past 12 years. The contract was initially established in 1985, and has existed continuously since then, with a few changes in scope, structure, and size.

Dryden Flight Research Center is NASA's primary center for atmospheric flight research and operations. Located at Edwards Air Force Base in California's Mojave Desert, NASA Dryden performs a critical role in carrying out the agency's missions of space exploration, space operations, scientific discovery, and aeronautical research and development.
