Aero-TV At Oshkosh 2009: WomenVenture - 2nd Year of Inspiration

Hundreds Gather Together to Honor Women in Aviation

On July 31st, hundreds of women gathered together at AeroShell Square to celebrate women in aviation.  This was the second year that EAA AirVenture honored women with a dedicated day of activities, guests, and celebrations.

The day is meant to encourage other women to pursue their dreams, both in aviation and in life.  Peggy Chabrian, president of Women in Aviation International was on hand to speak to attendees, as well as several honored guests including WASPs, Julie Clark, and Jill Long.

An estimated 550 women participated in a group photo, commemorating the day in special lavender shirts.
