Greater Binghamton Airshow Returns To Southern New York State

Show Is Back After Four-Year Hiatus

The Greater Binghamton Airport will host the Greater Binghamton Airshow for the first time since the event was suspended four years ago due to scheduling conflicts with some marquee performers.

The news website pressconnects.com reports that the show has brought in Tioga Downs, who was a primary sponsor the last time the show was held in 2014,  as the presenting partner for 2018. Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems and MacFarland Johnson have also come on board a sponsors for the show.

According to the Binghamton Airport website, there will be food and activities available for all ages, static displays, acrobatic aerial performances, jets, formation flights and more. The one-day show will feature headlining performances by the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team and the U.S. Air Force A-10 Demonstration Team which will also fly a Heritage Flight, a sentimental tribute that will feature the modern-day A-10 Thunderbolt flying in formation with a WWII era P-51 Mustang.

The show was placed on hiatus after the 2014 event because there were too many conflicts in performer's schedules for the July 4th weekend when the 2015 show was planned. This year, the show is planned for June 23 at KBMG.

The ticket price has not yet been determined. The show drew about 15,000 people in 2014, according to pressconnects.com.
