SkyTrac Systems Wins Contract From Hydro One

Will Provide Aviation Support Services To The Canadian Electric Utility

SkyTrac has been awarded the Hydro One Networks Inc. helicopter operations support contract. Hydro One, wholly owned by the Ontario government, is a transmission and distribution company that delivers electricity to people and businesses all across Ontario and is one of North America's largest electricity delivery companies.

The 5-year aviation services contract includes web-based aeronautical mapping and system management software, weather mapping overlays, SkyWeb mobile phone services, flight following services and text/voice communications. Fleet hardware provided under the contract includes Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) capable ISAT-200A satellite transceivers. The SkyTrac systems will support Hydro One dispatchers and flight crew and ground crew as they work on and maintain nearly 18,000 miles of transmission lines. The use of SkyWeb mobile will increase accessibility, enabling communication with, and monitoring of, their fleet operations from assigned mobile devices.

“This is an exciting win for us at SkyTrac, as more of the aviation community is enticed by the aviation support services we provide. We look forward to implementing the system and supporting Hydro One in their work,” commented SkyTrac President, Malachi Nordine.
