Aspen Avionics Achieves AS91000 Certification

Avionics Manufacturer Joins the Big Leagues with ISO Standards and Quality Control

Aspen Avionics has announced it has successfully received certification of the AS9100 Rev. D quality management standard.

The ISO standard specifies standards for a quality management system in the aviation sector, theoretically increasing the level of quality and reducing the error rate for products for the end-user. Aspen now has a seat at the 'big boys' table', able to partner with aerospace industry partners with confidence that they can handle the requirements of whatever project comes their way. They say that they don't just meet the AS9100D standards in practice, but exceed them, and they intend to impress with their work going forward in commercial, defense, business, and general aviation aerospace segments.

Aspen's work spans the gamut of avionics and cockpit systems, like their versatile Evolution Flight Display Systems for GA, Class III aircraft, or helicopters. Their Evolution series includes something for nearly any flight deck, with PFD/MFD combinations with expansive display space, or compact, lightweight panels for the kind of limited surface area common to light aircraft. The new AS9100 certification is a ticket to the big leagues, proving Aspen's tireless efforts to document, standardize, and organize procedures and processes across all wings of the company.

Sam Wallace, vice president of operations, is excited about the occasion. “This is a significant milestone that validates our commitment to delivering high quality," he said. "Highly reliable avionics solutions.  Following a rigorous audit process, this certification demonstrates our dedication to exceeding our customer’s compliance requirements relating to the performance, quality and reliability of Aspen Avionics products."
