Transition Complete: Wilson Air Center - Charlotte Open For Business

Even More Improvements On The Horizon

Wilson Air Center is pleased to announce that the Charlotte, NC location is now open for business and fully operational. Wilson Air Center was chosen by the Charlotte Douglas International Airport to manage the existing facility on the field (CLT). The official opening date under the Wilson Air Center name was February 1, 2005.

With the facility officially up and running, immediate plans for extensive upgrades are proceeding on schedule. A complete renovation of the 20,000 sq. ft. terminal building will begin this spring. The new terminal will be an elegant corporate atmosphere similar to Wilson Air Center - Memphis. Plans include a 2,500 sq. ft. private VIP lobby, complete with private bathrooms, a kitchen facility and state of the art facilities for meetings and press conferences. Additionally, the main facility will be expanded with an additional 10,000 sq. ft. two-story office space.

Further plans include the construction of a 240' x 50' all-weather aircraft arrival canopy, a feature originally made famous at the company's Memphis location. Full time concierges and ramp van drivers have already been added to deliver passengers and crews to their aircraft. The improvements are scheduled to be completed in Spring of 2006.

The 35-acre facility that bears the Wilson Air Center name at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport features more than 25 acres of ramp space. Additionally, there is more than 230,000 sq. ft. of private, shade and T-Hangar facilities available for aircraft parking and storage.

"We are extremely pleased to have had such a smooth transition at Charlotte. The reception we have received from customers at the new location has been nothing short of phenomenal. With award winning service already in place, the completion of extensive improvement plans will only solidify Wilson Air Center's place as the premier FBO at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport," said Dave Ivey, Vice President, Wilson Air Center.

It is important to note that as the final transition was taking place, many flight planning references such as AOPA Airport's USA and Pilot's Express had already gone to press featuring an outdated telephone number for the facility. The correct telephone number for Wilson Air Center - Charlotte is 704-359-0440.

Wilson Air Center in Memphis is the home of one of the world's largest aircraft canopies, and is touted by the aviation industry as among the top fixed base operations in the United States for the quality of its services and the comfort and design of its facilities.
