Noted Pilot Severely Hurt In Washington Mishap

Roger Christiansen Injured In Piper Cub Accident

Roger Christiansen, a general aviation pilot of note in the Northwest, was severely injured Wednesday when his Piper PA-18 Cub went down just after take-off from Oak Harbor Airport (WA).

KOMO Television reports both of Christiansen's legs were fractured in the accident.

There's no initial word on the cause of the accident. Witnesses told authorities Christiansen had just lifted off from Oak Harbor when his Cub suddenly flipped over and impacted the ground while inverted.
