SnF25 Morning Brief Redux -- Day TWO: Jamail Larkins, Linda Sollars

Looking Back at SnF25, DAY TWO: Aviation Start's Jamail Larkins, Linda Sollars... and More!

Start your day the Aero-News way with the Morning Brief, featuring everything you need to know to plan your Sun ‘n Fun day, brought to you by King Schools.

?ANN will help you start one of the biggest days of the week in today’s Morning Brief. Wednesday is one of only two days of Sun ‘n Fun to have a full slate of performances for day and night, with a packed roster of air show performers after the sun goes down.

Florida remains a hot state... with a projected high of 92°, partly sunny with record-tying heat; a thunderstorm late this afternoon; possible danger of dehydration and heatstroke while doing strenuous activities. Winds projected to be SE 12 mph, with occasional gusts to 29 mph. There is a 40% chance of precip and a 24% chance for thunderstorms...

Our top story from yesterday revolvves around all the unhappy buzz about the MOSAIC meeting that still hasn’t told us much about when the rule may go public... But everyone clings to some hope for Oshkosh... we shall see. At the same time, taking 18 minutes out of a less than one hour presentation, just to present the speakers, seemed a little but like overkill... or that there wasn't much for the speakers to say.

Before the rundown, we had a chance to chat with Jamail Larkins (pictured) of AviationStart, a student support system that helps connect future aviators with scholarships, grants, and aviation support. AviationStart helps tap into the $29 million in financial assistance spread throughout the industry, collecting them into one resource to search, track, and apply.

Afterwards, we got a chance to speak with author and aviator Linda Sollars about her high-wing TSI. She got in on the ground floor of owning a high-wing TSI, touching base with the manufacturer at just the right time. Since completing her aircraft at their South African factory she’s traveled the world to come back home and met a whole lot of people along the way. She has some interesting points about ergonomics after spending so much time in the saddle, so tune in and see what you can learn from a real long-haul pilot.

Today’s broadcast is brought to you by King Schools, currently offering a hefty 25% discount throughout the show when you use coupon code “ANN25”.

Special thanks to our friends at Hartzell Propeller, Piper Aircraft, Sensenich, and The Affordable Flying Expo for starting every day at Sun ‘n Fun the right way.

Tune in for more Morning Briefs throughout the week to find out the latest news, most interesting interviews, and water cooler rumors of Sun ‘n Fun 2025.
