Fundraiser Works to Set Up Air Transport For Cancer Patients
The Corporate Angel Network (CAN) is reintroducing its Fund an Angel event at the 2024 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE). This fundraiser seeks to arrange business aircraft transportation for cancer patients in need of treatment. The Fund an Angel event is set to occur from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on Wednesday, October 23.

Polaris Dawn Will Make First Commercial Astronauts in Space
The Polaris Dawn mission launch window officially opened on September 10. The spacecraft will send its four-member crew into orbit to attempt the first-ever commercial spacewalk. The mission launch will be live-streamed on X starting approximately three-and-a-half hours before liftoff.

Starliner’s crew will continue research operations on the ISS until they can return home in February 2025.

The power plant design is customized to user preference, with 4 engine and 8 propeller types to choose from. Test flights in the aircraft were offered throughout the weekend in Mount Vernon, Illinois. There are 19 currently operating in the U.S. and three more are on the way.
New Features Revise and Simplify the User Experience
Sporty’s recently finalized its mid-year upgrade to the Learn to Fly course. In this, several new features and lesson amendments were intertwined with the curriculum. The Sporty’s lesson kit serves as a ground preparation resource for student pilots worldwide. The company has been partnered with the EAA’s Young Eagles program for over 15 years, allowing youth to gain access to the Learn to Fly course at no charge. Analysis: The flight instructor and student pilot took off in a Cessna airplane from their home airport and proceeded north to a practice area to perform practice maneuvers. The Sonex pilot departed from an airport east of the practice area about 5 minutes earlier and proceeded westbound toward the vicinity of the Cessna. Both airplanes climbed to 7,000 - 7,500 ft mean sea level (msl) and operated under visual flight rules (VFR). When the Cessna reached the practice area, it made a left 360° turn consistent with a clearing turn, which according to the flight school was standard procedure.
