Airborne 09.25.19: Longitude Cert, Chipper Biz 4 Sale, MQ-25 1st Flight

The FAA has awarded Type Certification to Textron Aviation's Citation Longitude business jet, paving the way for customer deliveries. FAA Type Certification follows ‘the most robust’ flight, structural and component qualification testing completed on a Citation to date. The experimental and demo fleet completed close to 6,000 hours of flight time. In addition to 11,000 test points during the certification process, the Longitude also completed a 31,000-nautical mile world tour. NTSB Releases Preliminary Report From Convair 440 Accident In Texas

Airplane Clipped Trees Before Impacting Terrain

The NTSB has released its preliminary report from an accident involving a Convair 440 that impacted trees and terrain while on final approach to runway 25 at the Toledo Express Airport (KTOL). The accident site was located about 1/2-mile from the runway arrival threshold in Monclova, Ohio. Both pilots were fatally injured. The airplane was destroyed by impact forces and a postimpact fire.
