NavAero t*Bag C2 Flight Bag Generating FedEx, Airline Business

Courier Pilots Testing Product, Company In Contract Negotiations With Four Airlines

By ANN Correspondent Juan Jimenez

Just a few days ago during our AEA coverage, we told you about NavAero's new t*Bag C2 electronic flight bag product, which at the time was estimated to receive FAA approval by June of this year. The system consists of a control box that is permanently mounted on the aircraft, an interconnect box and a touch-screen display that mounts in the cockpit.

According to company Public Relations official Ms. Cheryl De Filippo, the product is still on schedule for its first STC in June. In addition to that, however, there's other exciting news about this new flight bag product.

According to Ms. Filippo, the t*Bag C2 is in the middle of heavy flight testing by FedEx pilots on a variety of company aircraft.

The courier company is evaluating the product to replace the heavy and cumbersome flight bags that pilots must carry in order to operate on national and international routes.

In addition to FedEx, the US Air Force and Army also have t*Bag C2 electronic flight bags on the way for evaluation in both helicopter and ground support/cargo applications.

In addition to all of this, Ms. De Filippo said that the company is currently in contract negotiations to install the t*Bag C2 on the aircraft fleets of four airline companies in the US and abroad, which she could not identify due to the ongoing nature of the negotiations.
