Southeast Aerospace Gets Cessna 208 Mission Equipment STC

Covers Sensor Mounts, Consoles For Surveillance, Intelligence, Law Enforcement

Southeast Aerospace (SEA) announced it received an FAA Supplemental Type Certificate, or STC, for the installation of mission equipment on the Cessna 208/208B, covering three console designs and a side sensor mount that provide a flexible platform for a variety of airborne special missions operations.

The STC applies to all Textron Aviation Cessna 208 and 2098B aircraft with or without the cargo pod installed.

The SEA-designed console and mount are intended to support law enforcement, surveillance, and intelligence-gathering missions. The console configurations are available in both slim and universal styles. They are seat-rail mounted and enable customizable integration of monitors, comms panels, and DZUS-mounted equipment.

Nathan Hernandez, Business Development Manager at Southeast Aerospace said, “This STC provides law enforcement and government operators with a proven, FAA-approved mission solution that integrates seamlessly with existing Cessna 208/208B platforms. From design to certification, our focus was ensuring flexibility, durability, and minimal disruption to the aircraft’s original configuration.”

Features of the installation include:

  • Modular Mission Consoles (LH/RH options) designed for single or dual-monitor use
  • Universal camera turret mount supporting payloads up to 200 lbs (e.g., MX-20, MX-15, FLIR 380HD)
  • Camera adapter plate and connector stowage assembly for secure and flexible equipment integration
  • Sensor mount can be removed and a plug can be installed to return the aircraft to a normal configuration.
  • Minimal impact to cabin seating and existing interior layout

The mission consoles have been installed into four Caravans as well as one Daher Kodiak, and all are in service with law enforcement agencies. Another is scheduled for a PC-12 installation this year.
