Avidyne’s Vantage 12 to Begin Deliveries in May

Vantage 12 System Replaces Entegra Flight Deck for SR20 and SR22’s

Avionics manufacturer Avidyne showcased its new retrofit upgrade for legacy Cirrus aircraft to kick off its time at the 2025 SUN ‘n FUN aerospace expo. The flight display system, dubbed Vantage 12, replaces the earlier Entegra flight deck found in upwards of 4,000 SR20s, SR22s, and SR22Ts.

Cirrus was the first customer for Avidyne’s Entegra, outfitting its SR20 and SR22 models with the system from 2002 to 2008. It was one of the first popular full-glass flight decks, featuring two 10-inch glass displays alongside a Garmin GNS 430. Despite Garmin’s G1000 being a significantly more complex (and more expensive) setup, it quickly became the industry standard, and the Entegra largely lost its following.

Avidyne is now attempting a comeback with its Vantage 12 flight display, which originally debuted in July 2021. It was marketed towards Entegra or pre-Entegra era Cirrus SR20, SR22, and SR22T aircraft owners looking for a bigger, better system to retrofit.

The Vantage 12 is a dual 12-inch display with synthetic vision, dual-AHRS MFD reversion, and a hybrid touch interface. It is designed for a seamless transition from Entegra using an ‘EZ Installation' package, including an EZ Adapter Harness and EZ Adapters for the PFD/MFD. This cuts the hook-up process down to eight wires plus powering the new ADC.

The standard configuration to work off the Vantage12 PFD/MFD is a single ADC and magnetometer, an AMX240 audio panel, dual IFD (IFD540/IFD440) FMS/GPS/NAV/COMs, a DFC90 autopilot, and a remote transponder. Users will also have the option for a second ADC and magnetometer.

“They can fly through a PFD failure and not even disconnect the autopilot. It's very tightly integrated with our IFDs and our DFC-90 autopilot,” explained Tom Harper, Marketing Director for Avidyne. “This is a really unique and highly capable upgrade for that fleet of aircraft.”

Avidyne is working closely with the FAA to hopefully begin deliveries as soon as early May. Designated Dealers will be responsible for most early installations before opening the task up to other distributors later in the year.

Avidyne will be around for questions, comments, and concerns throughout SUN ‘n FUN at Hangar C, Booth C75/76/77.
