Dynon Announces Van's Support Program

5% Rebate Offered, Extra Warranty Given to Affected RV Builders

Dynon Avionics President Robert Hamilton updated the Van's Aircraft builder community to offer some help in the recent turbulence- affected builders can get a 5% rebate on their Dynon Avionics.

Even better for those who make the buy, the purchased avionics will be offered with an extra year tacked on to their warranty, should backorders delay the installation of some kits purchased.

"The world of experimental aircraft builders is a small one, said CEO Robert Hamilton. "I’ve met many of you at Oshkosh and other shows over the years, and I know the commitment it takes to build and maintain your own airplane. When some of us have misfortune, it is felt by all of us. We’re in this together. The difficulties that Van's has experienced over the last six months is known to us. We have seen the effects through decreased sales to RV builders, and know the pain firsthand from our own employees who are in the process of building RVs."

The details are pretty straightforward, he said. Dynon wants to help, and to that end they will offer a discount to those Van's customers affected by that company's recent brouhaha. Those who've already put down a deposit on an RV kit can place orders for certain (i.e. Van's appropriate) Dynon and Advanced Flight Systems products between January 30, 2024 and the end of Sun ‘n Fun (April 15, 2024). That purchase will allow buyers to get a 5% rebate.

"Because we know that some kit lead times may be longer than usual," Hamilton added, "we will also warrant these products for an additional year." That brings purchases up to a 4-year warranty over the usual 3.

With costs for everyone rising across the board, Hamilton has to be careful that the program isn't exactly abused - it wouldn't be too crazy for anyone to try and take advantage of '2020 prices' with the way things are now. As such, customers will have to show proof they are directly affected by the Van's issue today.

"I am sure there are ways to game this, but we are asking you not to do so, and work with us to fairly share the cost with those who are directly affected," Hamilton closed. "We are experimental builders and owners here at Dynon, and our goal has always been to help make it affordable for anyone and everyone who wants to fly. That is our mission, and has been for 24 years."
