Red Cat Rolls Out FANG NDAA-Compliant FPV Drone

7-Inch Low-Cost UAV For Training, ISR Is First In Family

Red Cat Holdings announced the introduction of its FANG family of NDAA-compliant First Person View (FPV) drones beginning with the FANG F7, with a 7-inch frame. The drones were developed through a U.S. military lab program and are now field-ready after having progressed from concept to product.

The FANG line is part of Red Cat’s Arachnid family of ISR and precision effects systems that provides operators with secure, American-made retrievable drones that combine performance with significantly lower costs and are compliant with federal procurement requirements.

The FANG F7 features a 7-inch carbon fiber frame engineered for stability and durability, designed to be retrievable, reusable, and cost-efficient. The combination of its rugged build and affordability enables it to be effective when deployed as a training tool or a mission-ready asset.

The FANG line was created to bolster the domestic production of drones by reshoring manufacturing and replacing components previously sourced from China. FANG vehicles are built to meet federal purchasing requirements and offers NDAA-compliant solutions for public safety, defense, and other government agencies

All critical components are certified independently and listed on the DIU Blue UAS Framework, and the full system is pending inclusion on the Blue UAS cleared list.

Jeff Thompson, CEO of Red Cat said, "With FANG, we set out to deliver something the market hasn’t seen before. Working with key partners, we now have an NDAA-compliant FPV drone that’s both high-performing and low-cost. By focusing on retrievability, American manufacturing, and real-world mission needs, we’re giving defense and security teams a smarter, scalable option optimized for both budget and effectiveness."
