Former GM Is New Owner, CEO Of Twin Commander Aircraft

Says Company's Success Rests On 'Three-Legged Stool'

Jim Matheson, former general manager of Twin Commander Aircraft and group VP of its managing service company, Precision Aerospace Services LLC, has acquired Twin Commander Aircraft LLC and will serve as its president and CEO.

Before acquiring the company, Matheson served as the CEO and general manager of Twin Commander from 1993 to 1997. According to a company release, he was then given oversight responsibility for what eventually became four other Precision Aerospace companies, in addition to Twin Commander.

Matheson said it was the opportunity to focus on one company, instead of five, as well as his love of the product that drew him to Twin Commander. "Twin Commander was the first company I was responsible for at Precision, and it has always been my first love," he said. "I just love this aircraft. I really believe in it. The testimonials from owners say it all."

Matheson will be joined as a shareholder in Twin Commander Aircraft by his son, Mark, who has handled marketing and advertising for the company for the past seven years. Mark will split his time between Twin Commander and his marketing agency, Matheson Media Corporation.

Matheson said he believes the success of Twin Commander will rest "on a three legged stool. One leg is the product-a legendary and capable airplane that not only is fun to fly, but is the leader in its class for safety, efficiency, performance, and value."

"The second leg is the loyal owners who have chosen to fly it," said Matheson. "And the third leg of that stool is the great factory authorized service center organization that supports the product and its operators."

"We're far from finished with improvements to this airplane," he said.

Matheson will be joined as a shareholder in Twin Commander Aircraft by his son, Mark, who has handled marketing and advertising for the company for the past seven years. Mark will split his time between Twin Commander and his marketing agency, Matheson Media Corporation.
