New Russian Engines Unveiled At Iran Air Show 2016

Russian United Engine Corporation (UEC) Presents The PD-14 New Generation Civil Aero Engine

Two new civil aviation engines have been unveiled by The Russian United Engine Corporation (UEC) at the Iran Air Show 2016.

The company intruduced the the new generation PD-14 engine developed for the MC-21 airliner. The UEC has planned the talks with the civil operators of the aero technics powered by the UEC engines. Apart from the PD-14 the UEC's show exposition includes the TV7-117V helicopter engine.

“We expect that Iran's aviation market (which is very promising for us) rapidly grows amid the process of lifting of sanctions," said Alexander Artykhov, the Director General of the UEC. "We are confident, that the increase of the park of the commercial aircraft and the rise in intensity of its exploitation will create a firm ground for the mutually beneficial cooperation with our Iranian counterparts."

An important area of cooperation with Iran is providing for exploitation of the current and future park of engines, including the repairs, the components' supply and teaching the exploitants' or the specialized enterprises' personnel.

PD-14 is a base turbofan engine, which is being created by the UEC for the purpose of powering the Russian MC-21 airliner. The most up-to-date technologies and materials, including the composites, are in use. This is the first completely Russian engine for the civil airliners, created in Russia during the last decades. The flight tests have started in 2015.

The TV7-117V engine, developed for the newest Russian Mo-38 helicopter, is one of the most promising turboshaft engines in the world. Among its futures there is the ability to secure the flight by turning on the emergency thrust rating with power output up to 3 750 shp. The new full authority digital engine control (FADEC) system is installed.

The Iran Air Show 2016 runs through November 19th on Kish island (Islamic Republic of Iran).
