Think Global Flight Educational Initiative Receives Wolf Aviation Fund Award

Will Support Around-The-World Flight Promoting STEM Education

The Wolf Aviation Fund has bestowed a grant described as "generous" to Think Global Flight as part of its 2012 grant program campaign. This support from the Alfred L. and Constance C. Wolf Aviation Fund will be used to ‘fuel’ the excitement created as the Think Global Flight crew travels the world promoting education and inspiring students.

Think Global Flight is described by its organizers as "an around the world flight of adventure." They say it recognizes the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, and hope to increase the number of students around the globe interested in and inspired by aviation and aerospace as they follow the crew on their journey.

There are currently 10,000 students participating across the globe located in 10 countries and 25 states.  The FAA and Department of Education has recognized this quality program for providing real world application to learning.  The Wolf Aviation Fund joins other industry leaders on this significant endeavor, including Guidance Aviation, Jeppesen, Sennheiser, AOPA, Abingdon Co., Garmin, and others.

Each year the Wolf Aviation Fund provides funding for innovative projects that promote and support general aviation.  Projects must fit into the foundation's seven major program areas with Think Global Flight meeting the needs of three: Communications, Media, and Community Relations; Improving Public Understanding and Perception; and Aviation and Space Education.

“The Wolf Aviation Fund is noted for its long support of people doing great work in General Aviation.  Our review team was impressed with this flight’s involvement with students, teachers, and classrooms in so many countries around the world.  We are pleased to support such a worthy project and hope others do so too!” says Rol Murrow Executive Director.
