AAAA Celebrates Senate Approval Of AAIM Act

Alliance For Aviation Across America Celebrates Senate Passage of Infrastructure Modernization Act

Earlier this week, the Alliance for Aviation Across America (AAAA) celebrated the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation’s passage of the Advanced Aviation Infrastructure Modernization Act (AAIM) (SB.4246).

The AAIM lays the foundation for national support for infrastructure improvement through investments in emerging technologies, advanced air mobility (AAM), new takeoff and landing facilities known as “vertiports,” and associated infrastructure.

Ms. Selena Shilad, Executive Director of AAAA stated "we applaud the passage of this legislation, which would establish a grant program for state and local agencies to plan the development of infrastructure for emerging technologies, including AAM operations.  These technologies have the capacity to improve mobility for our communities, support our health care networks, reduce noise and environmental impact, as well as help transport people between urban and rural areas more quickly and efficiently".

This success builds on an earlier bill from the House of Representatives, (H.R.6270), sponsored by Senators from two political parties, Alex Padilla (D-California), and Jerry Moran (R-Kansas) for the Advanced Aviation Infrastructure Modernization Act was passed late last month. The potential for the creation of jobs and reinvigoration of the aviation community is not lost on those actively supporting the passage of this act.

The AAAA, founded in 2007, is a nonpartisan, nonprofit, national coalition of over 7,000 aviation and non-aviation groups and individuals across the USA, and seeks to highlight the importance of investments in AAM.
