Israeli Air Strikes Also Targeted Nuke Access Roads, Iranian Aircraft

Six Airfields Hit, 15 Warplanes And Helos Destroyed Including Refueler

The day after U.S. air power delivered a crippling bomb attack on three key Iranian nuclear processing sites and before President Donald Trump announced a total cease-fire agreement, the Israeli Air Force destroyed more of Iran’s air capability and damaged roads, further obstructing access to the facility at Fordow.

The Israeli Defense Forces, or IDF, posted on social media early on June 23, “Earlier today, the IDF struck routes in order to obstruct access to the Fordow enrichment site.”

A spokesperson for the IDF also said drone strikes were used to destroy 15 military warplanes and helicopters at six Iranian airfields, including F-14s, F-5s, and AH-1s.

The IDF spokesperson said, “As part of efforts to strengthen air superiority in Iranian airspace, the IDF attacked six Iranian regime airfields in western, eastern, and central Iran […] The destroyed aircraft were intended for use against Air Force aircraft and to thwart their attacks on Iranian territory. The Air Force disrupted the ability to take off from these airports and paralyzed the operational capacity of the Iranian Air Force from them.”

In addition to the fighter jets and helicopters, the raids also targeted runways, underground hangars, and refueling aircraft.

The IDF said, “Air Force fighter jets attacked infrastructure for storing and launching missiles intended to strike the territory of the State of Israel, satellites and military radar sites for detecting and creating an aerial intelligence image in Karamanshah and Medan in western Iran. In addition, a surface-to-air missile launcher was attacked in the heart of Tehran,”
