AeroTV at AUVSI22: ZenaDrone 1000 UAV Ready to Leave the Farm

Emerald Isle Drone Offers Intelligence and Flexibility

The ZenaDrone 1000 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is a clever synthesis of machine-learning software, artificial intelligence (AI), and aerospace engineering. The vehicle was created to serve the agricultural sector but has since been successfully deployed in industries as diverse as weather prediction, power and pipeline inspection, search and rescue, livestock management, and wind-farm maintenance.

Developed by Dr. Shaun Passley, the electrically-powered ZenaDrone 1000 features a carbon-fiber fuselage; four rotor-assemblies, each comprising two, contra-rotating, cowled rotors; and a host of available, multi-spectral sensors. A built-in, fast-charging, lithium-polymer battery provides power enough to keep the vehicle’s forty-kilogram payload aloft for one-hour.

The ZenaDrone—which operates autonomously but can be manually overridden—offers security-conscious users a three-tiered access protocol predicated upon 3-D facial I.D., voice recognition, and user-specific pin number.

The commercial drone is in its nascency. Nevertheless, aerospace companies are racing to produce robust, highly-functional machines capable of serving numerous and disparate industries. The ZenaDrone 1000’s design, execution, and marketing speak to both an understanding of emerging drone markets, and a degree of expertise commensurate with capitalizing upon them.
