Countdown to Kitty Hawk To Be Featured at NBAA

October, Orlando: Be There!

As part of the National Business Aviation Association's celebration of 100 years of flight, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Countdown to Kitty Hawk exhibit will make a stop at the NBAA 56th Annual Meeting & Convention, October 7 through 9, 2003, at the Orlando/Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) in Orlando (FL).

EAA's Countdown to Kitty Hawk is a centennial celebration of the Wright brothers' first powered flight. Led by EAA, presented by Ford Motor Company, and supported by Microsoft Flight Simulator and Eclipse Aviation, this yearlong series of inspirational events honors the innovation and determination it takes to make world-changing dreams a reality.

EAA's 1903 Wright Flyer reproduction is the centerpiece of the Countdown to Kitty Hawk exhibit. In addition to the aircraft, the exhibit at NBAA will celebrate the Wright brothers' first flight with displays on the Wright brothers, aviation history and aviation innovations. The Wright Flyer reproduction will be on display in Hall C of the OCCC.

"It's been a very exciting 100 years as flight has developed beyond even the inspired imagination of the Wright brothers," said NBAA President Jack Olcott. "NBAA is proud to host the Countdown to Kitty Hawk exhibit at its Annual Meeting & Convention as the business aviation community looks toward the next century of aviation challenges and opportunities."

Flyer is Convention's Only Biplane

In addition to the EAA Countdown to Kitty Hawk exhibit, the NBAA 56th Annual Meeting & Convention will feature:

  • Nearly 30,000 Attendees and more than 1,000 Exhibitors of business aviation products and services inside the OCCC
  • Approximately 135 aircraft on Static Display at Orlando Executive Airport
  • Pre- and Post-Convention Seminars on topics such as business aviation taxes, emergency-response procedures, flight-department management, human factors, flight-operations manuals and maintenance manuals
  • Maintenance & Operations (M&O) Sessions hosted by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)
