Stewart Is Chairman of SAFE, Master CFI

The IMC Clubs appointed Doug Stewart (pictured), Master CFI and Chairman of the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (safepilots.org), to its Board of Directors on Tuesday, March 23rd. The IMC Clubs said the move was made to improve and address the need for experienced guidance.

The organization says that, as a highly qualified individual, Mr. Stewart will be responsible for mentoring IMC Club staff instructors in matters related to educational guidance and direction as well as content and curriculum development.

Doug Stewart is the “National Certificated Flight Instructor of the Year for 2004”. A Master Certified Flight Instructor, Gold Seal Instructor, and Designated Pilot Examiner as well as the Chairman of the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators, he is based at the Columbia County Airport (1B1) in
Hudson, NY.

Both the Windsor Locks Flight Standards District Office and the New England Regional Office of the FAA recognized him as the “Flight Instructor of the Year”. He had logged well over 9000 hours of dual instruction given, with over 3000 hours of that being instrument instruction.
