Eve Air Mobility Enters Vertiport Sandbox Initiative In Brazil

Collaboration To Shape Regulations Supporting eVTOL Ops

Eve Air Mobility announced its commitment to collaborate with VertiMob Infrastructure and PRS Aeroportos in a regulatory sandbox initiative organized by Brazil’s Agencia Nacional de Aviacao Civil or the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) in a 24-month project to help define operational regulations for eVTOL aircraft.

The project will study key areas such as vertiport capacity, noise requirements, access control, and firefighting systems. It will also define takeoff and landing layouts, approach and departure routes and maintenance facilities and requirements. The contributions by Eve will be its expertise in aircraft performance and operational best practices gleaned from its work in aerospace technology and AAM development.

Johann Bordais, Eve CEO said, "From the beginning, Eve's vision has always been broader than just the aircraft. We are deeply committed to shaping and integrating into the wider AAM industry. Our collaboration in ANAC's regulatory sandbox is a clear demonstration of this commitment.

“This partnership with the infrastructure operators allows us to address all aspects of the AAM industry, from vertiport infrastructure to eVTOL operations, in alignment with the standards and expectations of global regulatory agencies.”

ANAC has published airworthiness criteria for Eve’s eVTOL, an important step towards type certification. Eve is continuing to work with ANAC and the U.S. FAA to finalize certification approvals. In addition, Eve has previously performed Concept of Operations studies in large cities to gather industry feedback regarding the refinement of eVTOL services and operational requirements.
