Angel Flight Northeast Announces Reorganization Plans

Two Former Board Members Re-Elected

After ANN inquired as to reports about some "turbulence" within their organizational structure, Angel Flight of New England, Inc. d/b/a Angel Flight Northeast (AFNE) told Aero-News of their plans to reorganize its board of directors, according to president and co-founder Lawrence Camerlin. The reorganization includes the re-election of former board member and chairman, Eugene E. Loubier, who will again serve as chairman; the re-election of former board member James F. Cear and his reappointment to the position of treasurer; and the pending election of additional board members.

Mr. Loubier is a co-founder of AFNE and served as chairman of the AFNE board of directors from 1998 until 2005.  He has more than thirty years' experience in healthcare management, most recently as president and CEO of Winchester Hospital and its parent organization, Winchester Health Care Management, from which he retired in 1995.  Mr. Loubier has also served in many capacities both regionally and nationally in hospital association work, including 20 years of service with the New England Hospital Association, appointment to the position of chairman, and receiving the organization's Gold Medal recognition.  He also was elected by his peers to serve as the Massachusetts representative on the board of the National Professional Organization of the American College of Healthcare Executives and served as president of the Maine Hospital Association, as well as on many state committees in Maine.

Mr. Cear is a managing director of Bank of New York/Mellon in New York City.  He previously served as a director for AFNE from 1998 to May 2009.  During that time, he also served as AFNE's treasurer.  Mr. Cear is retired from the United States Air Force where he served seven years on active duty flying B-52 aircraft and 14 years in the New York Air National Guard flying C-130 aircraft during air-sea rescue missions, NASA Space Shuttle missions, and on active duty during Desert Storm.  Mr. Cear is a licensed pilot and certified flight instructor who has flown as a volunteer pilot with AFNE since 1997.

"Since we founded Angel Flight Northeast in 1996, the organization has brought hope and help to more people than we could have imagined when we first embarked on the journey," said AFNE president and co-founder, Lawrence Camerlin. "The reorganization is intended to match experience with new thinking to help us chart a course for the future."

Angel Flight Northeast is a non-profit, 501(c) (3) organization that provides free air transportation in private aircraft by volunteer pilots so that individuals in need may access critical, often life-saving, medical care.

As to the previously mentioned reports of "turbulence" within the organization, no one at Angel Flight NE has yet made themselves available for questions...
