IAI's Bedek Receives FAA, CAAI STCs For B767-300 Freighter Aircraft Conversion

Additional Conversions Are Underway

Israel Aerospace Industries' Bedek Aviation Group (IAI/Bedek) received a Civil Aviation Administration of Israel (CAAI) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) on December 17, 2009 and an FAA STC on December 21, 2009 for its prototype B767-300BDSF (Bedek Special Freighter) aircraft. The process converts a passenger aircraft to a freighter configuration.

The prototype was converted for euroAtlantic airways - transportes aereos s.a, Portugal. euroAtlantic airways is a passenger aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance company. The B767-300BDSF conversion program was developed by Bedek for M&B Conversions of Dublin, Ireland, a joint venture company of Mitsui & Co. of Japan, and IAI/Bedek. Upon completion of the ground testing and certification program on October 27th, 2009, IAI test pilots flew the airplane for the first time, with outstanding results. Additional B767-300 aircraft are currently undergoing conversion at Bedek's facility in Israel.

Bedek's Special Freighter meets all FAA regulations. The company says the B767-300 BDSF airplanes are economical to operate and maintain and assure the highest value in the freighter market.

Bedek Aviation Group is a supplier of aviation maintenance, repair, overhaul and conversion services on a variety of commercial and military aircraft, engines and components.
