A4A Names Mark Millam Managing Director For Safety

Recognized Safety Expert Joins Organization From Compass Airlines

Airlines for America (A4A) has named Mark Millam as Managing Director for Safety. Millam, who brings 30 years of experience in airline operations and safety, joins A4A from Compass Airlines, where he was director of safety and compliance and responsible for implementing the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Safety Management System (SMS) pilot program. Previously, Millam was the managing director of safety at Northwest Airlines during the Delta/Northwest integration, where he managed the safety alliance between Delta and its Delta Connection carriers.

At A4A, Milam will report to Paul McGraw, Senior Managing Director for Operations and Safety, and will provide strategic direction and assistance to the A4A Safety Council, while building and maintaining relationships with key industry and government safety officials.

"Safety is the number one priority for airlines, and we are thrilled to continue strengthening our safety team with the addition of Mark Millam," said Dan Elwell, A4A Senior Vice President, Safety, Security and Operations. "Mark brings decades of experience in advancing key safety initiatives, and will play an important strategic role in helping the industry to continue building on its well-deserved reputation for safety excellence."
