Cape Town Airport: Best In The World

South Africans Created A "Non-Airport" Environment... At The Airport

If you're an airport-type and you want to know how to do the job right, the IATA suggests you check out the airport in Cape Town, South Africa. The international aviation body says the airport there is the best of its size in the world.

"To put this into perspective, in the regional award (for airports of all sizes), which includes both Africa and the Middle East, we came second after Dubai," said Cape Town International Manager Monwabisi Kalawe. "And Dubai was also named the overall winner, being judged best airport in the world across all size categories."

Dubai, for that matter, handles a lot more traffic than Cape Town, said Kalawe.

IATA also hailed Cape Town International as the most-improved airport in the world, in terms of customer satisfaction. It beat out Brussels, Halifax, Johannesburg and Minneapolis.

"Not only have we handled more passengers than ever before, but we've done it better than any other airport of our size in the world," Kalawe said.
