iFlightPlanner.com Joins Aspen Avionics’ Connected Panel
Partner Program
iFlightPlanner.com will be working with Aspen Avionics as a
Connected Panel Partner to enable connectivity between its soon to
be released iPad application and the Aspen Avionics Connected
Panel.
“We are very excited to be working with Aspen Avionics as
part of this project. Providing pilots with a safe and intuitive
interface to transfer data within a network of aviation-specific
devices has changed iFlightPlanner.com’s definition of a
fully integrated flight planning solution,” said Andy
Matthews, a private pilot and iFlightPlanner.com’s Co-Founder
& Director of Business Development. “This technology is
cutting edge and fits extremely well into our overall strategic
plan.” At AirVenture 2011, iFlightPlanner.com and Sennheiser
Aviation introduced an integrated iPad application that maximizes
the power and versatility of iFlightPlanner.com’s web-based
flight planning wizard with the portability of the Apple iPad. With
the release of iFlightPlanner for iPad later this fall, pilots will
have an integrated electronic flight bag that allows for flight
details such as the route, weather, navigation log, VFR and IFR
charts, approach plates, and a pilot’s digital logbook to be
downloaded and viewed on the iPad while in flight and without a
data connection.
By launching its Connected network of aviation-specific hardware
and software applications, Aspen Avionics is allowing pilots to
take that information one step further by bridging the gap between
smart devices, such as the iPad, and panel-mounted avionics. With
iFlightPlanner for iPad as an enabled component of the Connected
network, pilots will be able to transfer flights that were planned
and filed using iFlightPlanner.com directly into their certified
Aspen Avionics Connected Panel. "We are pleased to welcome
iFlightPlanner.com to the Connected Panel Partner program," said
Brad Hayden, Vice President of Marketing for Aspen Avionics.
"iFlightPlanner offers a powerful combination of web-based and iPad
application functionality, and its users will greatly benefit from
the ability to integrate that flight data with the aircraft's
onboard avionics systems."
iFlightPlanner.com currently offers an all-in-one suite of web
and mobile-based flight planning utilities which features a
proprietary Flight Wizard that guides pilots through the entire
flight planning process. In addition to route planning, certified
weather briefs, weight & balance calculations, and filing of
VFR and IFR flight plans, iFlightPlanner.com also offers
pilots:
- Seamless VFR and IFR charts complete with hi-res weather
imagery on Google Maps;
- Detailed navigation logs containing custom waypoints, forecast
winds, temps, fuel burn, and ETAs;
- Comprehensive Airport/Facility Directory with airport diagrams,
procedure plates, & business listings;
- Integrated digital logbook that allows pilots to maintain
online records of their flights; and a
- Searchable Flight Instructor Directory providing CFIs
opportunities to build their student base.
