AAR Looks To Expand In Indiana

May Create 40-50 Jobs Among Mechanics, Engineer, Pilots

AAR Corporation held meetings with students of the Ivy Tech Aviation Technology Department at Smith Field in Fort Wayne, IN to discuss the company's staffing needs.

Television station WPTA reports that AAR, which is headquartered in Wood Dale, IL, has a need for several aircraft mechanics, engineers, and pilots to join their growing company. Greg Dillinger of AAR Corp told the students at the meeting that the jobs are "careers that require a STEM education." He said the Ivy Tech is one of the few places in Indiana approved by the FAA to issue A & P certificates along with an associate's degree.

Dellinger said that part of AAR's strategy is to get out in front of an anticipated job demand curve. The industry has predicted that there will be a need for more than 600,000 mechanics and 500,000 pilots worldwide in the coming decades.

AAR provides aviation services to the worldwide commercial aerospace and government/defense industries. AAR combines a close-to-the-customer business model with a broad menu of capabilities to help customers operate more efficiently, lower costs and maintain high levels of quality, safety and service. AAR is a financially stable, dedicated partner with an enduring commitment to innovation, execution, continuous improvement and customer value.
