Lufthansa Aviation Training Selects FlightSafety E2 Sim, Cabin Trainer

Will Be Installed At The Lufthansa Training Center In Zurich, Switzerland In June

FlightSafety International has been selected by Lufthansa Aviation Training GmbH to provide a full flight simulator and cabin trainer for the Embraer E2 190-300 aircraft. The devices are scheduled to be installed at the Lufthansa Training Center in Zurich, Switzerland in June 2020.

“Being selected by Lufthansa Aviation Training to provide a full flight simulator and cabin trainer for the Embraer E2 aircraft demonstrates FlightSafety’s proven ability to provide the highest quality training equipment and exceptional value,” said Scott Goodwin, vice president, Simulation.

“We look forward to receiving two modern training devices to join our training fleet at our new state-of-the-art training center near Zurich Airport. Trainees benefit from an entirely modern infrastructure on-site and given the high training demand for the Embraer E2 aircraft type, the newest full flight simulator and cabin trainer further round off our training offering,” highlights Ola Hansson, Managing Director of Lufthansa Aviation Training.

The FlightSafety FS1000 simulator will be qualified to Level D by EASA and the FAA. Qualification by other regulatory agencies will be completed based on training requirements. The simulator features tightly integrated computer hardware and software across subsystems which allow for more accurate and higher fidelity simulation. It will be equipped with Honeywell Primus EPIC avionics, and feature FlightSafety’s latest advances in simulation technology which are designed to enhance performance, increase availability, and lower life cycle costs compared to previous-generation devices. They include FlightSafety’s CrewView collimated glass mirror display, VITAL 1100 visual system, and multi-function Instructor Operating Station.

The full-scale cabin trainer replicates the appearance, systems and configuration of the Embraer E2 aircraft’s interior. It features a main passenger door, instructor operating station, cabin attendant’s seat with harness, over-wing exit door, passenger seats, stowage bins, safety equipment stowage, emergency, escape and general cabin lighting, and more.
FlightSafety will also provide a full complement of support services, including simulator technician training, remote technical and engineering support, an on-site field service representative, and an extensive inventory of spare parts. The simulator and cabin trainer will also be used by FlightSafety to provide instructor-led courses, and will be available to other operators of the Embraer E2 aircraft.
