Deseret UAS Welcomes Leading Drone Services Company To Utah

Utah’s Strong Business Climate Attracts DroneHive, The Leading Provider Of Expert Services For Aerial Data Collection

Deseret UAS has announced that another Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)/Urban Air Mobility (UAM) company is relocating to the Salt Lake City area from the San Francisco area. DroneHive is the leading provider of expert services for aerial data collection and has a nationwide network of more than 1,000 drone consultants and pilots. The company helps global corporations collect accurate and actionable data, enabling them to make better and more efficient operational decisions.

"We welcome yet another Deseret UAS partner to Utah," said Deseret UAS Board Chair Shawn Milne. “Utah leads the country on a number of key economic indicators due to our ability to leverage technological innovations and invest in our critical infrastructure. We have a unique entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit that makes us very attractive to companies such as DroneHive.”

Consistently ranked as one of the Best States for Business, Utah’s fast-growing UAS/UAM industry is taking off. With a business-friendly atmosphere, fast-growing population, and highly educated workforce, the state has successfully fostered a conducive atmosphere for this sector to flourish.

"We chose to relocate to Utah from the Bay Area because of the strong business climate, less traffic congestion, and more affordable housing," said DroneHive CEO Paul Huish. "Deseret UAS has been a great partner and their presence in Utah was a factor in our decision. We hope to be an integral part of the excellent work Deseret UAS is doing to advance Utah’s UAS/UAM industry."

DroneHive plans to double its workforce in the coming year. The company’s professional drone consultants and pilots are experts in drone rules, regulations and safety.  The company provides their expertise to a wide variety of industries, including construction, energy, security, insurance, engineering and real estate.

"As a commercial incubator of autonomous aerial technologies, we value the dozens of private-sector companies currently operating here and know that DroneHive will make significant contributions to the great work already being done,” said Milne. “We look forward to a continued partnership and hope they stay in Utah for a very long time.”
