Blue Origin Announces Crew For NS-32 Mission

Group Includes STEM Teacher, Radiologist, Attorney, Three Entrepreneurs

Blue Origin announced the crew that will fly on its upcoming New Shepard NS-32 Mission. Crew members include Aymette Medina Jorge, Dr. Gretchen Green, Jaime Aleman, Jesse Williams, Mark Rocket, and Paul Jeris.

NS-32 will be the 12th human space flight for the New Shepard program and its 32nd overall. The launch date has not yet been announced, but as usual, the live webcast on Blue Origin’s website will begin at T-30 minutes.

So far, Blue Origin’s New Shepard flight program has flown 58 humans and over 175 scientific payloads above the Karman line, where the Earth’s atmosphere ends and space begins. Though somewhat controversial, it is generally accepted to be about 90-100 km (60-62 mi) above sea level.

Meet the Crew:

Aymette (Amy) Medina Jorge: Middle and high school STEM teacher at Odyssey Academy in Galveston, Texas. She has led more than 60 space experiments and Zero-Gravity projects including biometric sensors developed by her students and performing in-flight 3D printing.

Dr. Gretchen Green: Radiologist who specializes in women’s imaging with over 20 years of clinical experience. She is also an educator, explorer, and lifelong space enthusiast who attended Space Camp and now serves on the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation Board.

Jaime Aleman: Attorney, businessman, and former Panamanian Ambassador to the U.S. He is a lifelong adventurer and has traveled to all 193 U.N.-recognized countries, the North and South Poles, and space.

Jesse Williams: Canadian entrepreneur and adventurer who is CEO of Car History Group. He is also a competitive cyclist and avid mountaineer who has summitted six of the seven highest peaks on Earth including Mt. Everest and Mt. Vinson in Antarctica.

Mark Rocket: Entrepreneur and technology executive from New Zealand. He is CEO of Kea Aerospace, a developer of solar-powered, stratospheric UAVs for aerial imaging and monitoring. He is also President of Aerospace New Zealand whose mission is to promote that country’s aerospace community, as well as a seed investor in Rocket Lab, serving as a co-Director until 2011.

Paul Jeris: Entrepreneur and real estate developer who became fascinated with space at a young age through his father, a NASA engineer who took him to launches of the Apollo, Shuttle, Mariner, Voyager, and Viking missions.
