Aero-TV: NexAir Unveils R9 – Jim Campbell On The Saratoga NX

ANN’s Jim Campbell Provides Review on NexAir’s New Saratoga NX

The following is a transcript of the presented video for your convenience:  "The name of the game right now is getting bang for the buck.  Let’s face it, the economy from 2009 heading into 2010 has not been a good experience for the lot of us.  For those of us with a strong need for an airplane that’s very capable, with particularly, the best of what’s available today, you can either buy new and spend a whole lot more (and it’s great if you can because, if you can, nobody can deny that’s an amazing experience), but finding a refit airplane with just everything the way you want it is a great way to save a lot of money and just get a tremendous amount of capability.

Case in point:  Saratoga NX.  We just finished a quick test flight around the area.  The best part is the Saratoga you know and love as far as handling qualities, stability and control, is the same thing.  Nothing’s changed, just a real sweetie-pie.  Good numbers and the nice part here is that with the blessing of the LoPresti magic, you’re looking at in the neighborhood of 12 knots at altitude.  So you’ve got an airplane that in the past was a reasonable performer that now has got itself some real gumption; but let’s face it.  There are two real crown achievements in this particular airplane:  one, Release 9.

Release 9 is perfect in this panel.  It works well.  The FMS mounted on the panel itself rather than in the pedestal works really well.  It’s like everything we’ve flown before in R9, solid, dependable, fast, and tremendously capable, and in an airplane like this, it just fits like a glove.

At the same time, you just look at this interior and you stand back and go, “Wow, somebody gets it.”  The interior is functional; it’s good-looking.  It’s comfortable and it takes a solid little airplane and gives it a fair amount of pizzazz.

Overall, serious thumbs up for an under $400,000, six-place, go anywhere, do-it-all, solid weather airplane that can take you where you need to go for a reasonable amount of bucks.  Saratoga NX…nice job.  For the Aero-News Network, and for Aero-TV, I’m Jim Campbell."
