She'll Speak Next Weekend  

Julie Clark, who over the past 25 years has become known one of the world’s most dazzling air show performers, will host a special presentation at the EAA AirVenture Museum at 1300 local, Saturday, March 19. The program celebrating National Women’s History Month is included with museum admission and is free of charge for EAA members.

Clark, who also flew as a captain with Northwest Airlines for 27 years, has earned a long list of awards for her air show performances in the military T-34 trainer she named “Free Spirit.” She is also familiar to those who attend the annual EAA AirVenture fly-in each summer in Oshkosh, as she is a regular performer on that world-class roster that flies each afternoon during the week long event.

Clark’s rise to the pinnacle of both air shows and commercial aviation is an inspiring one, as she was left parentless as a young girl following her father’s tragic death. She worked extra jobs and even used some of her college book money for flight training and cockpit time. She began flying for a small California airline in the mid-1970s and eventually became a captain for Northwest Airlines.

Her March 19 program at the EAA AirVenture Museum will touch upon Clark’s perseverance and vision, as well as her excitement when flying air shows throughout North America.
