Brazilian Centenarian Skydives For Christmas

Hopes To Have A Place In Guinness Book Of World Records

You're only as old as you feel, the saying goes. Aida dos Santos, a 100-year-old grandmother living in Amazon state of Amapa, Brazil, who said she feels like she's 50 ... proved it Saturday by going skydiving for the first time.  Now, she says, she want's to do it again.

The centenarian, who turned 100 in November, participated in a tandem jump from about 9,750 feet, according to multiple media reports including the international news service AFP. She experienced a free-fall of about 9 seconds. Her grandson, Josivaldo Vaz dos Santos, 27, enjoys skydiving and got her interested in giving it a try. He arranged the jump as a combination birthday and Christmas present for herself.

Back on the ground, dos Santos called the experience "unique" and "exhilarating". and said she'd like to try it again.

To that we say, you go, grandma.
