Civil helicopters extend the reach and expand the capabilities of businesses, governments and security agencies. The positive impact of civil helicopters for entities that can afford to acquire and operate them remains compelling. However, this is tempered by acquisition and operational costs as well as economic uncertainty in some parts of the world, although there are also strong new markets that are emerging. The world market for civil helicopter will reach $7.4 billion in 2015.

“The global civil helicopter market has experienced reasonably strong growth, recovering from the 2007-8 financial crises," said William Li, a Senior Aviation Analyst & Consultant and the author of the Civil Helicopter Market Forecast 2015-2025: Commercial Prospects for Top Companies with Light, Intermediate, Medium, Large & Heavy Rotorcraft report. "Although annual delivery units aren’t as high as pre-crises levels, the overall industry market value certainly showed rapid growth. Last year, the helicopter market declined for the first time since 2008, in terms of annual delivery units, however, the market value remains around the same as the year before. Despite this temporary decline, the global market still shows strong opportunities in the future, particular through emerging markets and the increase of aircraft utilisation by introducing multi-tasking platforms.”
