Aero-Linx!

Scouring the information super airways can sometimes be a tough, if educational, task for the Aero-News staff... but it also allows us to check out some truly neat and exciting sites, so it's not that bad a gig. On any given day, we may check dozens (and often hundreds) of different sources for story ideas, and facts confirmation. And, as is the nature of our business, much of this is done on the Internet.

The ANN gang decided we probably shouldn't keep some of the neat sites, info resources, and organizations we've discovered to ourselves... so we decided to bring you Aero-Linx. These are the sites that WE check out -- when we need added perspective, a new spin on a day's topic... or just want to escape into cyber-aero-space for awhile.

Look for some of our favorite sites, coming each day to ANN via Aero-Linx. Suggestions for future Aero-Linx segments are always welcome, as well.

Aero Linx: Parkwater Foundation

Founded in 2007, Spokane Turbine Center dba Parkwater Foundation (The Foundation) is a 501 (c)(3) organization that offers funders the opportunity to make an impact through aviation educational opportunities. Its adult program contributes to healthy and vibrant communities by serving the aviation organizations that provide global emergency response, disaster relief, and/or missions aviation. The Foundation has its origins in providing highly subsidized aviation training to humanitarian aid and missions aviation professionals that operate the KODIAK 100 aircraft, an aircraft that was originally designed by missionaries for missionaries in Sandpoint, ID.  The adult program has evolved into a  scholarship program for any nonprofit aviation organization with an expanded vision to add impact grants and additional support to historically under-represented groups in aviation.  The Foundation is seeking funding for its youth aviation program, a hands-on interactive  learning opportunity for high school students. The program combines  STEM, aviation history, service learning, and career readiness in a  state-of-the-art flight school housed at in an aviation historic site.
