Take a look into the future of flight at the 2004 Great Lakes International Aviation Conference, Feb. 6 - 8, 2004, at The Lansing Center in Lansing, Michigan.

A top-flight lineup of nationally known speakers will address this fourth annual weekend conference at its new venue. Among the headliners are Phil Boyer, President of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), Brian Finnegan, President of the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA), and Dr. John Wood, Optics Lead Engineer for the NASA Hubble Space Telescope.

"Moving the conference to its new venue will allow a significantly reduced registration fee, greater accessibility to a variety of area attractions and better logistics between the trade show and demonstrations," said Michigan Aeronautics Director Rob Abent. "The conference will continue to benefit anyone wishing to pursue the very latest information on flying and aircraft maintenance."

Breakout seminars will range from topics of interest to pilots, to hands-on displays and discussions, to an extensive maintenance program. Inspection Authorization renewal also will be available for those who qualify.

"In the past we were only able to offer a full weekend registration, but now we will be able to offer a day rate for participants. We want everyone to be able to enjoy this event, and hopefully this will open the door for some that may have been deterred by the registration fee," Abent said.  

All maintenance sessions at the Great Lakes International Aviation Conference qualify for IA renewal and the FAA's Aviation Maintenance Technician Awards Program, per FAR 65.93. In addition, all of the pilot sessions qualify for the FAA's Wings Program, per FAR 61.56.
