Thrust Flight Sees Part 141 Course Approval

Zero to Hero Airline Pilot Program Opens Enrollment in Texas

Flight academy Thrust Flight has received approval for their Part 141 accelerated Commercial Certificate course.

The school, in Addison and Denison, Texas, has already begun filling up slots in their classes, boasting a training period 2 months shorter than their non-141 courses. The move should help net them additional interest from wannabe pilots, particularly with so much press devoted to the long-awaited pilot shortage. Those interested in sitting in the right seat at the airlines have to work their way up from scratch, and Thrust Flight holds out its Part 141, "Zero Time to Airline" program as the perfect way to kickstart a career.

Like many such programs, the course takes a student from no experience and puts them through training in as little as 7 months - provided they can keep up. There's no shortcut for checkrides and no replacement for subject mastery, so the only way past a certificate is through it. But, should the pilot put in the necessary time and effort, they could conceivably be sitting in the right seat of a regional airline in as little as 20 months, according to Thrust Flight. While most Part 141 schools promise similar timelines, would-be students planning on CFI-ing their way to airline minimums should look carefully for schools with adequate class loads to provide 1,000+ flight hours to each instructor over that timeline. In Thrust Flight's case, recent additions of brand-new aircraft to their fleet bode well for a school with a lot of fresh blood coming in with each class. The school says its enrollments are already filling up throughout 2023 already, a promising sign for would-be students and instructors.

“We’re thrilled to offer this rare fast-track commercial course to our Zero Time to Airline students. This will allow us to continue to deliver our exceptional training while helping our students get to the airlines even more rapidly,” stated Ray Lamas, president of Thrust Flight.
