Jeppesen Signs Partnership Agreement With Dassault Falcon

Will Supply Software For EFBs

French jetmaker Dassault Falcon and Jeppesen signed an agreement Tuesday afternoon at NBAA 2008, that calls for Jeppesen to develop new performance software and services to be incorporated into Electronic Flight Bags in the Falcon family of business jets.

The training and software provider says the new programming will simplify takeoff and landing calculations during preflight preparations by the flight crew. The software is programmed to run on any PC or EFB that runs Windows.

Dassault will be responsible for updated performance information, as well as computation modules and performance data. Jeppesen will provide and update airport information, including runway parameters and obstacles data.

"This Dassault/Jeppesen partnership will give Falcon customers the benefit of precise performance information for each takeoff and landing and will significantly decrease crew workload during mission preparation," said Dassault's Jean-Paul Pellisier.

"Jeppesen is pleased to provide this important performance service to both new and existing Falcon Jet customers," added Greg Bowlin, senior vice-president for Business and General Aviation at Jeppesen. "The EFB is a proven asset for operators and provides convenient access to important information for planning and operational purposes such as aircraft performance using Jeppesen's proven airport and obstacle data."

The new tools and services are scheduled to be available as an option to new and existing Falcon customers by the end of 2008.
