Aero-TV: Top Gun Maverick Cinematographer, Kevin Larosa

The Mind Behind 3 Delta Fox's Mind Blowing Cinematographer

Kevin Larosa took a moment out of his busy day at NBAA-BACE 2023 to give Aero News Editor-in-Chief Jim Campbell a rundown of his work organizing and shooting aircraft stunts for the big screen. As aerial stunt coordinator, Larosa was able to bring out their specially outfitted Aero L39 Albatros to provide some NBAA eye candy.

The ‘Cinejet’ sports a specially-fitted camera gimbal controlled from the aircraft, allowing Larosa & company to get the perfect shot while in-flight. The Albatros wasn’t alone, either, since he’d brought out their Embraer Phenom 300 and Airbus H125 with a similar camera fitting. That lets the team cover most flight regimes, no matter the project.

Larosa’s full-service outfit, 3 Delta Fox, offers its clients a full turnkey video package, taking an idea from start to finish to hand off a fully edited, color graded, finalized video product. NBAA is a good time to rustle up future gigs, of course, when Larosa can advertise his team’s impressive aerial photography and advertising potential to everyone in the business aviation community. Larosa even gave us a little tip on what kind of career moves are needed to get a job working on banner Hollywood projects: Hours, experience, and determination to fly any time, and anywhere.
