Ministry Of Interior Will Use For Law Enforcement And Aeromed Services

Airbus Helicopters announced a contract with His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior of Bahrain, for the purchase of nine H145 helicopters.

The aircraft will be operated by the Police Aviation Command for law enforcement missions as well as emergency medical services in the kingdom.

The newest version of the best-selling light twin-engine H145 helicopter adds a new five-bladed rotor to the multi-purpose aircraft which increases its useful load by 150 kg (330 lbs). In addition, the bearingless design of the main rotor eases the maintenance burden and cost, improving the aircraft’s baseline serviceability and reliability as well as the ride comfort for crew and passengers.

There are currently more than 1,700 H145 helicopters in service that have logged over 8 million flight hours. The aircraft is powered by two Safran Arriel 2E engines and is equipped with full authority digital engine control (FADEC) as well as the Helionix avionics suite and a high performance 4-axis autopilot to reduce pilot workload while improving safety.
