Ryanair: Strike Will Not Affect Schedule

Airline Says Pilots Will Continue To Fly Despite Union Actions

Ryanair says its pilots will work through a strike called by BALPA for three days next week.

The company released a statement on Twitter saying that all flights to and from U.K. airports will operate as scheduled "thanks to the efforts of over 95 percent of our U.K. pilots who have confirmed they will work their rosters, and will not support this 3rd BALPA strike action.

"On behalf of our customers and their families, we with to sincerely thank all our U.K. pilots who have not supported this BALPA strike and have confirmed they will work as rostered to protect the flights and travel plans of our U.K. customers and their families of the first week of September.

"We have invited BALPA to meet with Ryanair (this week) to resume negotiations and to call off these unsupported and failed pilot strikes, but BALPA has refused to take these repeated invitations."

BALPA has not responded to the announcement by the airline. The strike would only affect Ryanair pilots who are members of BALPA.

British Airways is still facing a strike by BALPA pilots set for September 9-10 and September 27.
