PAMA Foundation Announces Deadline for Scholarship Applicants

The Professional Aviation Maintenance Association is pleased to announce 25 years of giving through its Chapter and Student Scholarship program. This is in accordance with PAMA's mission, to enhance professionalism and recognition of the Aviation Maintenance Technician through communication, education, representation and support—for continuous improvement in aviation safety,

The Chapter and Student Scholarship Program was created to recognize and reward qualified students who have selected aviation maintenance as a career. Recipients of the $1,000 scholarships are selected on the basis of criteria, including educational performance, work experience, participation in school and community activities, career commitment and future potential, financial need, and recommendation by a counselor, advisor, aviation maintenance instructor, or current employer.

The program operates on donations from regular, associate, student, education and company members of PAMA and funds raised at the annual Chili Cook Off. Awards may be used for tuition, fees, books or supplies directly related to the student's program. Individual recipients will be selected and notified during the month of November. Chapter scholarships provide the opportunity for Chapters to provide awards at the local level.

The Professional Aviation Maintenance Foundation board of directors has approved $15,000 to be awarded in PAMA Chapter & Student Scholarships for 2003. The deadline to apply is October 31, 2003.
