Bristell Shows Off Electric Offerings at SUN ‘n FUN

Manufacturer Displays B23 Energic With Solar Impulse’s H55 EPU

Czech aircraft manufacturer Bristell is showcasing its fully electric, Part 23-certified B23 Energic as a focal point of its SUN ‘n FUN expo display. The two-seat trainer is slated to begin initial deliveries in 2027 in the US and Canada.

The B23 Energic was developed in a joint effort between Bristell and Swiss electric propulsion designer H55, which is a technological spin-off of Solar Impulse. This project was the first to truly validate solar-powered flight by completing the longest solo flight without fuel or emissions.

H55 builds off the same goals of Solar Impulse, aiming to develop and commercialize clean and efficient electric propulsion technologies in aviation. Since it was created by Solar Impulse’s team, H55 was quickly able to pull more than 20 years of design experience into a final electric propulsion concept.

The H55 system was Design and Production Organization certified in 2022 and, in 2024, gained its first customer application with the Energic. The aircraft is now Part 23 certified by the FAA and is taking the stage for a nationwide tour, starting with Florida’s SUN ‘n FUN aerospace expo.

“The B23 Energic represents a fundamental shift in how we think about aviation. Electric flight is no longer a future concept; it’s a certified, operational solution ready to deliver real value today,” stated Martin Larose, CEO of H55. “What sets H55 apart is our integrated approach: we don’t just build propulsion systems, we deliver a complete electric aviation ecosystem—from energy storage and performance optimization to certification support.”

Bristell’s exhibit features several designs from their fleet, ranging from MOSAIC-ready to LSA certified to patiently awaiting their next move. The display also features a neat way for viewers to understand the Energic’s propulsion, with a full-scale system laid out showing the system from battery to propeller.

The Bristell showcase is located at Booth MD-009B in the Outdoor Section of Manufacturers on the SUN ‘n FUN campus. The manufacturer also held a common presentation on April 4th at 1:00 PM in the Education Center.
