Piper Survives (Another) Hurricane

Vero Beach, FL, is normally a picturesque and pleasant vantage point from which to sample some of the best weather the South has to offer.... until Mother Nature plays the Hurricane card. An industry leader like New Piper Aircraft was ready for the worst that Hurricane Frances could dish out, and despite getting hammered by the extended onslaught of horrific weather, they expect to be up to speed and back to work, in short order.

Piper's Mark Miller tells ANN that, "New Piper Aircraft is working quickly and diligently to repair damage caused by Hurricane Frances and expects to resume delivery of aircraft by the beginning of next week (the week of September 13) and parts shipments by the end of that week."

Chuck Suma, president and CEO of New Piper, expressed his appreciation for all the support extended to New Piper and its employees (shown below in far better weather) from the community, government and the New Piper dealer network in the wake of Hurricane Frances.

"That support is playing a large part in our ability to get back up and running as quickly as we have," Suma said.

Currently, the National Guard is using New Piper facilities as its staging area for relief and rescue work in Vero Beach and surrounding areas.
