Space Florida Welcomes New Chair, Members Of The Board

Attorney Bill Dymond Appointed Interim Chair Of The Organization

Space Florida, the state’s aerospace development organization and spaceport authority, has recently welcomed a new interim Board Chair and three new members to its Board of Directors.

Bill Dymond was appointed interim Chairman of the Board at the May 8, 2013 Space Florida Board of Directors meeting in Lake Buena Vista, FL. Dymond is the president, CEO and managing partner of Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A., a multi-practice law firm with more than 100 attorneys, located in Orlando.

Recently, the Board also welcomed three new Board members: Jonathan Stanton, Julius Davis and Lewis Bear Jr.

Jonathan Stanton is the President of LEMA Construction & Development and founder of New Advantage Corporation (NAC) in St. Petersburg. Over the past decade, he has expanded NAC into a top international supplier that serves 3,000 active commercial and military OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), EMs and distributor customers around the world.

Julius Davis is a principal owner of VoltAir Consulting Engineers, LLC in Tampa. He is LEED accredited and has more than 17 years of electrical engineering design and analysis experience. Davis currently serves on the Hillsborough County Community College Board of Directors, the University of Tampa Fellows Council and the City of Tampa Planning Arts Committee.

Lewis Bear Jr. is president and chief executive officer of the Lewis Bear Company in Pensacola. Bear is active as a trustee of the University of West Florida. His additional professional and civic affiliations include serving as a member of the Florida Arts Council, Statewide Health Planning Council Board, Pensacola Museum of Art and Pensacola Chamber of Commerce.

"We are pleased to welcome our new Chairman and recently appointed Board members,” said Space Florida President Frank DiBello. “We know they have the best interest of the state’s aerospace economy at heart.”
