Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker Visits AirVenture

Brief Talk To Press Supports EAA Event

Governor Scott Walker visited AirVenture today. In brief comments, he recognized the importance of aviation to the Wisconsin economy. He also expressed his support of AirVenture and the economic impact it has on the local economy.

“The EAA AirVenture is one of the world’s best aviation events,” Governor Walker said in a news release posted on his website. “The more than 500,000 aviation enthusiasts who attend the event each year boost our state’s economy with more than $110 million during this week-long event. I am proud that Wisconsin hosts such an exciting event drawing tourists from across the country and around the world to our state, and I am glad I had the opportunity to attend again this year.”

When asked about the FAA charging EAA for ATC services, he expressed his view that it could have been handled differently.
